Braces Treatments
Orthodontics, one of the special branches of dentistry, is involved in the diagnosis, protection and treatment of irregularities in the patient’s teeth and face. Malocclusion, the bad bite and irregularity of the teeth, can only be corrected with orthodontic treatment. When the size of the teeth is not in harmony with the size of the jaw, the teeth that want to settle in the jaw are arranged irregularly and crookedly. In skeletal and dental problems such as this, orthodontic treatment is used to ensure the proper alignment.
Age is not important in the treatment of crooked and irregular teeth. However, if there is a skeletal problem, that is, if the jaw is in front or behind, this disorder should be treated until the age of 12. Because this treatment becomes more difficult with advancing age. The first orthodontic examination in children should be done around the age of 7.
In the process applied to correct the teeth, braces called ‘brackets’ are used. However, with the developing technology, brackets are now fixed to the back surface of the teeth, porcelain brackets and transparent aligners have also started to be used.

The treatment method called Invisaling has a removable and almost invisible structure. It consists of customized and mass-produced aligners. It is characterized as a digital orthodontic treatment method applied to correct patients’ teeth that do not look aesthetically good.
Although Invisalign is actually an orthodontic treatment method, the only difference is that the deformities of the teeth are corrected without the need for braces. Dentists and patients can visualize at the beginning of the treatment how the teeth will take shape at the end of the treatment. After the final form of the treatment is visualized in the form of three-dimensional models, the production is approved. This method allows the personalized smile design to be decided in consultation between the dentist and the patient. When the treatment is finished, unwanted results are prevented.
Invisalign transparent aligners are known for being the first company in the world to perform orthodontic treatment. To date, 6 million people have been treated worldwide using Invisalign. It is known that this number is increasing day by day. The fact that the teeth are very crooked does not mean that no results can be obtained from invisalign treatment. The application can also be used in large crookedness problems. However, there are some tooth movements that invisalign application cannot provide. For these, it is absolutely necessary to be examined by an experienced orthodontist.
The treatment process starts after the measurements are taken from the patient and it takes 5 – 6 weeks to attach the transparent plates. Invisalign treatment duration is shorter than the duration of other orthodontic treatment. Anyone with healthy teeth and gums can have invisalign treatment. In order to have this application, the jawbone must also be healthy. Invisalign treatment can be applied to all patients who have erupted their 2nd molars. The eruption of the 2nd molars occurs around the age of 13 to 14.
